Octogamex User Guide Pt. 3 — How Do I Sell via “Sale”, “Auction”, and “Trade” Type Listings?
Your “My NFTs” tab is a mighty tool. The ellipsis in the top right corner of all NFT info cards reveals a power-packed suite of the platform’s key features when activated:
🏷 “Sell” — opens up the window where you can put your gaming NFT up for sale at a fixed price. Set the currency and the price for your listing, choose the quantity in case you have multiple NFTs of one type (works for ERC-1155 tokens), schedule its start at a specific time in the future, and toggle your readiness to take trade offers on and off.
❗️ First, input all the necessary data
Then, click the “Approve” button to grant the marketplace’s smart contract permission to carry out operations with your NFT once you initiate one.
- Note that “Approve” only shows up when you introduce an NFT to the marketplace for the first time, meaning no transaction has ever been made to the NFT using Octogamex. Each NFT must be approved by you since Octogamex doesn’t have access to any of your gaming tokens without your permission.
- Also note that each single transaction (approving, buying, selling, transferring, canceling, etc.) made on any blockchain requires a small amount of its native token (BSC in the case of Octogamex) to be paid as a fee called “gas.” This is your payment to the validators forming blocks and checking their integrity, and this is what fuels blockchains, allowing them to operate.
This will fire up a MetaMask dialog window where you need to approve access by clicking “Confirm.”
The green button at the bottom of the window will then show you the “List NFT” text.
Clicking “List NFT” will get your MetaMask extension open once again. There you will need to simply hit “Confirm” one more time, then wait no more than half a minute for the transaction to get approved on the blockchain.
Wait for the “Transaction Is Being Processed” window to disappear.
Once the transaction is processed, your NFT is successfully listed on the marketplace and will be selling according to the “Sale” listing type mechanics. Congratulations! 🥳
To manage your “Sale” type listing, go to the “My Listings” tab, then click the info card of your NFT listing.
Its page will open. Here:
- You can end the listing whenever you want by clicking the “Cancel Listing” button.
The “Cancel Your Listing” window will be displayed.
You then need to confirm that you agree to the Terms of Use by checking the box (1), and then hit “Cancel.”
This will start your MetaMask extension. Click “Confirm” in the dialog window that has opened to get your NFT out of the marketplace “Sale” showcase.
2. The “Go to NFT Chat” button takes you to the “Chat” section of the NFT page where you can answer buyers’ questions regarding your NFT and have a discussion with them. To do so, you need to enter your message (1), pick a nickname, or go with standard “Anonymous” if you choose to remain private (2) (not advised for the seller), and enter your link (not necessary) (3), then press the send button (4).
Once you’ve done the above mentioned steps, you have a couple of possibilities regarding the messages in the chat.
